Law Enforcement Mentorship
Law Enforcement Mentorship
I was given an opportunity to shadow Law Enforcement Officers in the field and go and explore different places involved with law enforcement. I learned a lot from these experiences given to me by the Mentorship Program. Not only was I given the opportunity to ride along with several police officers in my community, but I got to visit several museums, prisons, barracks, and training camps that involve law enforcement. I got the opportunity to tour the Eastern State Penitentiary, the Law Enforcement Museum, the FBI Headquarters, PG County Jail, the Safe Driving Administration, and the Criminal Justice Academy. These opportunities caused me to further my interests in law enforcement in my near future.
By being involved with the mentorship program, been able to figure out what I want to do as a career in the future. This program made me realized that I do in fact want to pursue a career in law enforcement in the future. I found this program very interesting in that I was given so many opportunities to shadow and learn about the history, duties, and requirements of law enforcement. The program helped me to narrow down what I truly want to do in the path of policing, and I am very glad that I decided to take part in it. I am very glad that I took part in the Mentorship Program and I will recommend it to others who would be interested in it.
