Mentoring-Ms. Pace's Spanish 2 Class
Throughout this school year, I have been doing a mentorship at Northern Middle school. Through this mentorship, I hve been helping a Spanish 2 class. Through this, I have graded papers and looked over tests. Also, I helped many kids that had trouble with any of the content that was taught by the teacher, Ms. Pace. Through helping the students, I got to bond with the class as well as use my Spanish skills to help the students do very well in the class. With the grading of papers, I have been able to reinforce my knowledge of Spanish and become more confident in teaching as well as speaking the language. My main goal going into this mentorship is to practice my Spanish skills by teaching students. Unfortunately, i was not able to teach the students up front, but I was able to walk arpound and assist many of the students who needed help, which was frequently. Through helping many students, I was able to interact with the kids and the teacher and see how they were learning the language. By this, I have learned how to help and teach other people outside the classroom who can be struggling and help get them to better understand the language. Having this skill with me has impacted me a lot because helping people is something I love to do. Watching the kids thrive in the classroom because of the further help I gave to them is life changing. This made me figure out that my true calling is to help people do their best in what they are doing, such as school or work. I love watching people grow to becoming strong, intelligent and individual.
